Firstlook

Sunday night, solved

Every wedding you shoot, blogged by Monday.

Firstlook turns a delivered gallery into a finished, search-ready blog post in your voice. Built for wedding photographers who would rather shoot than type.

The bit nobody warns you about

Every wedding ends the same way. Ten hours shooting, a week of editing, gallery delivered. Then the blog post you know you should write... doesn’t happen.

It’s not laziness. After editing 800 photos of one day, writing a thousand words about it is the last job on earth.

But blogging is how couples find you on Google. Every post you skip means enquiries going to whoever did write theirs.

How it works

Three steps, and none of them are writing.

  1. 01

    Send your gallery

Paste the link to a gallery you have already delivered, then add the day in a line: venue, couple, florist, planner. Pixieset, Pic-Time, ShootProof, a Dropbox folder, whatever you use.

  2. 02

    We read the day

Firstlook reads the photographs and your notes, then writes the wedding as a story rather than a caption dump, in the voice of the posts you have already written.

  3. 03

    Publish by Monday

A finished post of about 1,200 words lands in your inbox, with the venue and location words couples type into Google. Copy it, paste it, publish it.

A wedding photographer's desk at the end of the day

The gallery was always the easy part.

The founding offer

£29a month

£59 a month from launch. Founding members never pay it.

I am building this now, with the first 10 photographers. You will shape what it becomes.

  • Every gallery you deliver, written up. No monthly cap while you are a founding member.
  • £29 a month locked for as long as you stay, even when the price goes to £59.
  • Your first post written and read by me by hand, inside a week of joining.
  • A direct line to me, and a say in what gets built next.

Jack, the founder of Firstlook

Who is behind this

I am Jack. I have photographed weddings for eight years.

I hated Sunday nights. The gallery was out the door and the blog post I knew would bring couples in was sitting there unwritten. It took hours I did not have, so most weeks it simply did not happen, and the enquiries went to photographers who found the time.

Firstlook is the thing I wanted for eight years. I am building it with ten photographers who know that exact feeling, and I would like you to be one of them.

Before you ask

When will it be ready?
Founding members start in September. Early on I run every gallery myself with the tool behind it, so the first posts are read by me before they reach you. The version you log into yourself follows once the first ten are happy with the writing.
Will it read like me, or like a robot?
That is the whole job. Firstlook learns your voice from two or three posts you have already written, and every founding post is checked by me by hand. Google penalises unhelpful pages, not photographers who had help writing them.
What if it is not for me?
Tell me within 30 days and I refund every penny, no form and no awkward questions. You keep the posts. I would rather have your honest verdict than your money.
Why so cheap?
£29 is the founding price for the first 10, not the real one. It goes to £59 at launch. You are backing something unfinished, so you lock £29 for as long as you stay.
What happens after I sign up?
You get a personal email from me, usually the same day, never a no-reply address. I ask for one delivered gallery and a couple of your old blog posts, and your first written post comes back inside a week.

Next Sunday night can end differently.

One gallery in, one finished post out, every wedding you shoot.
